What Lithoen records

Each claim states how it is known and cites its evidence.

EstablishedClay to shale, silt to siltstone, sand to sandstone, pebbles to conglomerate.

Clastic sedimentary rocks are named by grain size: shale is made mostly of clay, siltstone of silt-sized grains, sandstone of sand-sized clasts, and conglomerate of pebbles set in a matrix of sand or mud.
