EstablishedAn Archean block whose margin localised the Great Dyke.
The ~2.46 Ga Great Dyke was emplaced in the Zimbabwe craton along what the USGS chromite model calls the Archean–Proterozoic boundary — a margin rather than an interior, which is the setting the model identifies for a large part of this class of intrusion.
