What Lithoen records
Each claim states how it is known and cites its evidence.
EstablishedGlass fibre closures and semi-structural parts; carbon fibre mostly low-volume (as of 2015).
In light-duty vehicles glass fibre composites are used for closures and semi-structural parts such as rear hatches, roofs, doors and brackets, where part consolidation, corrosion resistance and vibration damping help; carbon fibre composites had, as of 2015, seen limited use, mainly in semi-structural parts such as hoods and roofs in low-volume production, and wider structural use was held back by needs for crash failure-mode data, cost parity, design tools and dependable joining at production speed.
