Deposit

Krásno–Horní Slavkov (Hub stock)

Also known as Hub stock, Krásno Sn-W deposit

A tin-tungsten deposit in the Krásno–Horní Slavkov ore district of the Czech Krušné hory, in which the mineralisation is bound to greisens developed in the apical part of a topaz-granite stock. The Li-mica of those greisens is zinnwaldite, the tin mineral is cassiterite of near-ideal composition, and the tungsten mineral is a manganoan ferberite.

What this record is, and who says so

Recognised on the basis of

Peer-reviewed study

A peer-reviewed publication whose subject is this deposit.

A deposit is an occurrence of sufficient size and grade that it might, under the most favourable circumstances, be considered to have economic potential. Lithoen records that a named authority made that judgement. It is not a statement that anything here is recoverable, and it is not a resource or a reserve.

Where it is

Lithoen holds no coordinate for the Hub stock. The study locates it by naming the Krásno–Horní Slavkov ore district and by cross sections, which is not a coordinate.

What Lithoen records

Each claim states how it is known and cites its evidence.

Establishedrecognised as a tin-tungsten deposit in a peer-reviewed petrological study

Reported for this deposit

Lithoen records the Hub stock at Krásno–Horní Slavkov as a deposit because a peer-reviewed study of its greisens treats it as one, describing its ore domains, its greisen bodies and the samples taken from its underground workings and boreholes during the 1987 to 1991 exploration phase.

  • assertion basis: SOURCE_REPORTED
  • definition basis: Treatment as a named deposit with described ore domains in a peer-reviewed study.
  • locality: Krásno–Horní Slavkov ore district, Krušné hory, Czechia.
  • assumption: Recognition is a geological judgement by the study's author and says nothing about economics.

EstablishedLi-mica-topaz greisens with zinnwaldite, near-ideal cassiterite and manganoan ferberite

Reported for this deposit

The greisens of the Hub stock are Li-mica-topaz and topaz-Li-mica greisens developed in weakly greisenised topaz granites, enriched relative to those granites in calcium, fluorine, iron, lithium, silicon, tin and tungsten and depleted in aluminium, potassium, magnesium, sodium, titanium, yttrium, zirconium and total rare earths. Their Li-mica is zinnwaldite, their cassiterite is near ideal SnO2 above 99 weight per cent, and their wolframite is a manganoan ferberite.

  • assertion basis: SOURCE_REPORTED
  • definition basis: Mineralogy and mineral chemistry as reported in the study.
  • locality: Krásno–Horní Slavkov ore district, Krušné hory, Czechia.
  • temporal basis: From samples of the 1987 to 1991 exploration phase.
  • assumption: Mineral chemistry is not a grade and not a resource statement, and the study reports no processing consequence of any of it.

Open question

Reported for this deposit

Lithoen holds no coordinate for the Hub stock. The study locates it by naming the Krásno–Horní Slavkov ore district and by cross sections, which is not a coordinate.

  • assertion basis: SOURCE_REPORTED
  • definition basis: What the source provides: a named district and figures.
  • locality: Krásno–Horní Slavkov ore district, Krušné hory, Czechia.
  • assumption: A limit of this source and this corpus, not a statement that the position is unknown.

Establishedmineralogy established; processing entirely absent from the source

Reported for this deposit

A property of a dataset or model, shown here for context — not an observation about this record.

The Czech source recovered for this deposit is a petrological, geochemical and mineralogical study. It establishes the greisen types, the element enrichment and depletion, and the identities of the Li-mica, the tin mineral and the tungsten mineral. It establishes NOTHING about processing: no beneficiation, no unit operation, no plant, no recovery and no product appear in it, and its single use of the word gravity is inside the title of a cited geophysical study. Any processing link for this deposit would therefore have to come from a source this corpus does not hold.

  • assertion basis: SOURCE_REPORTED
  • generality: DATASET_PROPERTY
  • definition basis: What the recovered source contains and what it does not, read across the whole chapter.
  • locality: Krásno–Horní Slavkov ore district, Krušné hory, Czechia.
  • assumption: The absence of processing content in this source is a statement about the source. It is not a statement that the deposit was never processed — the district has a long mining history that this study does not describe.

Open question

Reported for this deposit

Lithoen holds no mineral-system interpretation for the Hub stock. The study describes a granite-related tin-tungsten system with greisenisation as the controlling alteration, but this corpus holds no mineral-system entity for that class, and coining one from a single case would make a class out of an instance.

  • assertion basis: SOURCE_REPORTED
  • definition basis: The absence of a matching mineral-system entity in this corpus.
  • locality: Krásno–Horní Slavkov ore district, Krušné hory, Czechia.
  • assumption: A statement about coverage, not about the state of knowledge.
