Known metadata gaps
Recorded explicitly rather than guessed.
- No DOI is registered for the service.
- Only Queensland and New South Wales were retrieved — the two states the Phase 17 validation cohort occupies. The checksum is of that retrieval, not of the national layer.
- The published area_albers_sqkm figures are computed in an equal-area projection by the ABS. Lithoen computes areas on a sphere, so the two differ by the sphere-versus-ellipsoid residual and not by a defect: 0.069 per cent for New South Wales and 0.248 per cent for Queensland.
- Geometry was generalised server-side at 0.001 degrees, about 110 m, on Lithoen's request. Ungeneralised, the New South Wales outline is a single ring of 325,709 positions and Queensland's is 120,807, both above this corpus's 20,000-position limit — a limit that exists to force simplification to happen where its tolerance is recorded rather than silently. The tolerance is the finest of those tried that satisfies the limit, and it is ten times finer than the 1,100 m linework of the feature whose area it normalises. Area fidelity was checked before it was accepted: 2,535,832 km2 generalised against 2,535,807 km2 ungeneralised, a difference of 25 km2 or 0.001 per cent.
